Directions by road

From the A75 take the A794 turning for Dalbeattie & Haugh of Urr, then at Dalbeattie turn right onto the A711 to Auchencairn.

 

Alternatively, from Castle Douglas take the B736 to Auchencairn.

In Auchencairn village take a left  turn towards the coast along Shore Road, look for signs for the Balcary Bay Hotel.

Follow Shore Road for 2 miles until you reach the car park on your right, park here. Long Cottage is the corner cottage with the front door just around the corner from the car park.
